Greetings!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website and for giving us the opportunity to share our faith journey with you. We are looking for partners who wish to embark with us to expand our outreach efforts to inner city communities. We would appreciate your prayerful consideration in supporting and teaming up with us.

Goal

To bring holistic revitalization to low income communities in Northern California through educational enrichment, economic empowerment, and housing services thereby demonstrating and sharing the love of Jesus Christ to those in need.

History

In 2005, Pastor Daniel Wong started New Hope Community Church of Sacramento (NHCC). Its vision is to reach out to the Meadowview community and beyond. Given the broad array of needs that exist in the Meadowview Neighborhood, members of the church began to attend community meetings and go door to door surveying neighbors. NHCC discovered from neighborhood residents that one of the most pressing unmet needs was a lack of youth afterschool activities and mentorship.

Over the course of time, members of the church worked with the youth and their families to offer support in the form of mentorship, food provision, attendance of school meetings, advocacy before Child Protective Services, and even temporary foster care! It became apparent that God had placed these families before NHCC to show the members the great need that exists in the community and that great sacrifices and commitment were needed to demonstrate God’s love to the many families in Meadowview. Because of their sacrifice and commitment the church has been blessed to see members of these families come to know Christ and become a part of the church family.

NHCDC Beginnings

In the Fall of 2007, NHCC began efforts to further its outreach to more families by making plans to form a non-profit from which social service programs for children and families could be provided to the community. The founding members of NHCDC: Enoch Yeung, Daniel Wong, Natalie Johnston, Michelle Bruns, Ron Fong, and Lorraine Huang committed themselves to starting up the ministry. The non-profit would allow the church to reach out to the community throughout the week and not only limited to the weekends. God has convicted every member of the team to commit him or herself to helping those less fortunate and providing opportunities for the community to experience the love of God.

Our Vision

As a team and devoted community, we long to see faithful individuals committed to nurturing at-risk youth and supporting families in need.
We have witnessed that many people are struggling to overcome a myriad of issues: family conflict, broken school systems, neighborhood safety, distorted values, unemployment, lack of role models to name a few. How then is the church supposed to respond? We believe that Jesus desires to restore lives and communities so that God’s values are manifested: love, peace, joy, compassion, justice. In order for these Biblical values to reign, NHCDC is devoted to creating programs which connect the community to resources they need while also cultivating long-term loving relationships with people. Our goal is to make God’s presence felt on a daily basis, and in turn giving people the opportunity to respond to His grace and love.
